MORE VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

Volunteer numbers have decreased this year, which means either more work per volunteer or just not getting as much done.  In addition, most of us are Seniors, and we could do with some younger energy!  I encourage you to take a walk through Wybejong Park and enjoy its beauty and perhaps be inspired to become involved in caring for it.  Even if you can't come to working bees, there are other ways in which you can contribute.

Despite the wet conditions, our 2 persistent pyromaniacs succeeded in burning off accumulated fallen branches and weeds at the base of the cliffs.  We mulched the areas we weeded last month and made a good start on weeding the Lomandra longifolia (spiny mat-rush) plantings around the Rivergum Drive drain.  The pigface is flowering and looks very pretty amongst the rocks.  The plantings will help to stabilise the soil and prevent erosion, as well as preventing clay from being washed into the creek and reducing water quality.

We're hoping that weather conditions will be suitable for mowing – too wet last month.  There'll be more clearing and burning off, which we need to finish before fire restrictions are imposed.

Sat Dec 3

Mowing and cleanup.
